YOUR bad driving habits may not just hack other drivers off, they could even give a potential LOVER the ick, a new study has found.

Tailgating was drivers' biggest turn-off, with a massive 45.8 percent of Brits looking for the next exit if a date drives too close to the car in front.

While failing to indicate finished just behind pole position – with nearly a quarter turning out the lights on love if a date fails to signal properly.

Slow driving came in third – with 15.4 percent admitting they would rather their date break the speed limit than drive slowly.

Despite this – 14 percent preferred a Sunday driver to a boy racer to whisk them off into the sunset.

The study also revealed the motor you drive could in keep you single.

So bad luck if you drive a van – because 46 percent of Brits say the practical motor gives off the worst impression on a date.

They came in as the least desirable behind people-carriers, sports cars and two-seaters.

But it turns out you're all good with no hood – as convertibles give off the best first impression for would-be lovers.

As for the car itself – you'll be left picking up the pieces of your date if your car is a tip because 44.8 percent find this the biggest turn off.

In comparison, only 6 percent of Brits will muddy the waters if your exterior is dirty – so get the hoover out and start cleaning.

And it is spoilers that will do just that to a date – with almost a quarter (21.9 percent) admitting car mods won't get them hot under the bonnet.

And while good for the environment – driving an electric or hybrid motor could make you two-thirds less attractive than petrol heads.

As for the make of car – Audi drivers finish on top, they get a third of dates all revved up.
