Sally Nugent is a TV presenter and newsreader known for her role on BBC Breakfast.

The 52-year-old was born on the Wirral Peninsula and has a degree in Communication Arts and French from the University of Huddersfield.

She began her career at BBC Radio Merseyside before becoming a reporter and newsreader for BBC North West Tonight.

In 2003, she became a sports reporter for BBC News before becoming a sports news presenter on the BBC News Channel.

During her time there, covered the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany and anchored Sportsday from there.

After this, she briefly became a news correspondent on TV and radio and a relief presenter on the BBC News Channel.

In 2011, she started co-presenting BBC Breakfast, filling in when the regular hosts were away or unavailable.

She became one of the show’s regular co-presenters from Christmas Eve 2012 to September 2021.

From October 2021, she became a permanent presenter on BBC Breakfast alongside Dan Walker, Charlie Stayt, and Naga Munchetty after replacing Louise Minchin.

Sally is married to Gavin Hawthorn but earlier this year they announced they had separated after 13 years of marriage.

The presenter has one son and lives in Hale, Greater Manchester. Her home has a traditional kitchen and a minimalist bedroom and has been decorated impeccably throughout.

Hale is in the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford in Greater Manchester and has a population of around 15,300. The village is a desirable place to live and is just 10 miles away from Manchester City centre.

The majority of sales in Hale during the last year were terraced properties, selling for an average price of £527,053.

Detached properties sold for an average of £1,310,971, with semi-detached properties fetching £801,835.

Overall, sold prices in Hale over the last year were six percent up on the previous year and 22 percent up on the 2020 peak of £645,597.
