A SLUGGISH internet connection can send anyone into a flurry, especially when working from home.

But don't let the pain of a buffering browser or flashing router light let you overlook the simplest, and often most effective, fix.

For some people, this trick will be the go-to whenever their service goes down.

But it's common for us humans to over complicate things by delving into other, more obscure Wi-Fi speed fixes, such as disabling all connected devices or moving signal blocking objects.

As Virgin Media explains, the first thing you should always do is simply turn your router on and off again.

"If your broadband is lagging, our first bit of advice is… to turn your Virgin Media hub off and on again," the firm says.
