Minecraft fans fight back against Mojang’s recent competition – big changes could be coming | The Sun

World News

MINECRAFT and developer Mojang have come under fire for a feature that has long been in the game.

Players are now fighting back with a petition to give everyone what they want.

Every so often Minecraft hosts a mob vote where players can vote for the next set of creatures that will be added.

The upcoming vote is between crabs, penguins, and armadillos but players aren’t happy with the decision.

This year, a number of vocal Minecraft fans have spoken up saying that Mojang and the Minecraft team at Microsoft are coasting by holding the vote.

They claim that if the team developed all three mobs, then they should let players have all of them in the game.

MOH NO!

Minecraft fans shocked by Mojang’s latest decision – the community is broken

A petition set up by fans has over 400k signatures asking for the dismantling of the mob vote system.

The petition reads: “The Mob Vote generates engagement by tearing the community apart, leaving fantastic ideas on the cutting room floor, and teasing content that will never be seen in the game.”

There are also complaints of content updates slowing down over the years, and players wanting more from their favourite game.

While some of this is done in good fun, with people mocking up their own union-style posters for the event, some players are very serious about their dislike of mob votes.

The petition follows years of players' disappointment at mob votes with many upset at how large content creators sway voting.

Big YouTubers or Twitch streamers will often promote their favourite mob, which gains it a huge influx of votes.

The vote opens today (October 13) at 6pm and will be available for 48 hours, ending at 6pm on October 15.

Sniffers won the last mob vote beating out the Rascal and the Tuff Golem to be added into Minecraft.
