Emmerdale star Jonny McPherson has played GP Liam Cavanagh in the ITV series since 2014. The actor recently shared snaps of his permanent residence in Leeds: a houseboat.

The actor revealed the very humble life he has outside the TV show, as he lives in a houseboat in Leeds with his dog Molly.

He recently shared on social media a few pictures taken inside his charming narrowboat.

Jonny gave fans a glimpse of his spacious houseboat, which features a velvety green couch, which presumably turns into his bed, a wooden desk and a small kitchen.

His rescue dog Molly can be seen relaxing on the couch with some of his toys, a mustard blanket and matching cushions.

The living room area has a dark wooden floor, floral curtains, some colourful lamps, and vintage decor pieces.

The small kitchen features a marble floor, a wine cabinet and some retro cookware.

In another snap, fans could see dog Molly having a snooze in Jonny’s bed.

The bedroom area has wallpaper walls, a double bed covered in patterned blankets and grey curtains.

The actor definitely knows how to turn the interior of a narrowboat into a very beautiful and cosy home.

“Three and a half years now I’ve lived on Benedict, which is a 60 feet narrowboat,” he recently explained on This Morning.

“Keith is a resident heron at the dock where I’ve got the boat permanently moored now.

“He struts by the window most mornings, peering in at me as if I’m the weird one. He’s a lovely fellow.”

The actor also revealed on Twitter it took him four months to get to Leeds.

“After four months of swollen rivers, dodgy locks, a temperamental engine and the occasional wrong turn (pipe down @Nick_Miles_) I’m so bloody happy to say I have at last arrived in the fine city of Leeds.

“Thanks to all who’ve joined me on the journey and helped along the way.”

Jonny is currently dating Emmerdale co-star Natalie J Robb, who plays Moira Barton.

The couple confirmed they started dating just before the lockdown in March 2020.

Natalie explained: “Our first date was in mid-January, and then we were just having a couple of dates in February and then obviously March lockdown happened.

“And we were together at the time that Boris Johnson announced it.”

However, it is unknown if Natalie also lives onboard the ‘Benedict’.
