Mike Sellers faces the problem many dog owners do, with non-stop malting leading to mountains of fur and a clogged up vacuum cleaner. And it’s often a nightmare to get rid of, but this ingenious life hack certainly helps. Taking to TikTok on his account @badass.dog.family to share the idea, Mike showed off the pretty basic piece of equipment he uses. He demonstrates how a window or floor squeegee does a fantastic job at pulling up the stray fur. The video caption said: “This will save me emptying the vacuum about 200 times.”

Viewers then watch him raking the squeegee across the carpet, getting a mound of hair out as he does it. The video went viral and received thousands of comments.

One viewer commented: “Mind is blown!” And another viewer dubbed Mike “the hero we didn’t know we needed.”

One TikTok user posted: “I have a husky, German Shepherd and an Akita mix so this is great info!”

And even cat owners got involved, writing: “Omg! Thank you for this. I have three cats (sorry not dogs) but this will literally do the same thing for me!”

Other commenters were more soothed by the video than the hack itself, writing: “Please do the whole floor and show us – it’s so satisfying!”

And forgetting the animals altogether, a final commenter concluded the discussion, asking: “What about human hair? Because I shed worse than my animals!”
