You waitYou wait another day and then decide to press forward. You know if a bank account is closed you lose your funds forever, and you have no way of paying to reopen it. You call and ask a guy named Mike about opening an account with him. He tells you that he has an account at another bank and that he can set it up for you. He also says he can give you the money from his account, and a check for the balance. You tell him youll be happy to get a check for the balance, but that you are not interested in the money. You are not going to open an account with someone who is going to do nothing but give you a check. In the meantime, you can only think of four people to call: Mike, who does nothing with his money to maintain his interest in it; his mother, who does nothing with her money to maintain her interest in it; a priest, who does nothing with his money to maintain his interest in it; and the bank itself. You decide to call a priest: you cant call Mike when he lies about his name or refuses to give you the money he promised hed give you; you think telling the real story of how you got the money and how you have been living with it since last Christmas will be much easier and more convincing to a priest than a phone call to a guy with an internet business. You call Father Michael and tell him about your situation: you want money, you need money, you cant pay for more than you have. You tell him that you havent seen him since last Christmas. You ask him if he wants to give you some money, but he declines and tells you he doesnt have any more but that you can go to him and hell give you some. He walks out into the street and you follow him. He goes into a store and comes back out carrying a check, a stack of paper and a pen. A woman with curly hair and a long coat comes up to him, as does another man with a similar name, which you learn is his brother. They both tell you to wait while they go call his mother and his brother. You think you might as well go, but you cant help wondering if you are really any any good with a pen. Farewell: You are standing outside the bank, waiting to speak to Father Michael. He turns to leave, but you call after him. You say I have no money for a priestYou say I have no money for a priest. You are not good with a pen and you are just too afraid of making a mistake that Father Michael will hear. Your fear of making a mistake is so great that you forget that your brother has.
